Caring for Our Environment – Clean Up Australia Day at Hoppers Crossing Montessori Centre

On 5th March, our children, educators, and families came together to participate in Clean Up Australia Day, showing wonderful care and responsibility for our local environment.

It was truly heartwarming to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic as they carefully collected pieces of paper and other small items around the area. Their excitement and dedication reminded us how powerful early learning experiences can be in shaping positive habits for the future.

Participating in activities like this helps children understand that everyone plays an important role in caring for the environment and the community we share. Through hands-on experiences, children begin to develop a sense of respect, responsibility, and belonging to the world around them.

This experience reflects key principles of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF):

  • Outcome 2 – Community: Children learn that they are part of a wider community and that their actions can contribute to caring for the environment.
  • Outcome 4 – Learning: Children develop curiosity and a sense of responsibility through meaningful, real-life experiences.
  • Outcome 1 – Identity: Children build confidence as capable individuals who can make a positive difference.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the parents and families who were able to join us for this event. Your participation helped make the experience even more meaningful for the children.

We completely understand that many families have busy schedules, and we truly appreciate your continued support in different ways. Together, as a community, we are nurturing children who value respect, responsibility, and care for the environment.
