Lunar New Year Celebration-Year of the Horse.

Our Lunar New Year incursion was a wonderful way to begin the year, and we were delighted to welcome Miss Phebe, who shared such a vibrant and meaningful cultural experience with our children.

The children learned about the 12 animals of the zodiac calendar and were captivated by the story of how the Rat came first in the race, along with the customs and preparations for welcoming the New Year. They enthusiastically practised saying “Xin Nian Kuai Le” to wish one another a happy new year and enjoyed watching a lively lion dance, with two children taking turns inside the lion dance mask.

To complete the celebration, the children received mandarins and traditional red packets known as hong bao, which added to the joy and cultural significance of the day.

This special incursion beautifully reflected our commitment to inclusiveness, cultural appreciation, and respect for diversity, bringing our community together in a spirit of celebration and connection. It was truly a delightful and memorable experience for everyone involved.
