On the 21st of March, we had the pleasure of hosting Camp Quality for an engaging and heartwarming incursion. Camp Quality is a renowned organisation dedicated to supporting children and families who are impacted by cancer, who brought their unique and interactive puppet show to our centre. Through laughter, storytelling, and meaningful conversations, the children gained valuable insights about resilience, empathy, and inclusivity.
The highlight of the incursion was the Camp Quality puppet show, which featured lively characters named Arial and Tom that shared their stories in a fun, age-appropriate manner. The performance tackled important topics such as understanding the illness, supporting friends, and embracing differences. Through animated storytelling, the children learned that despite challenges, optimism and kindness can make a difference.
Following the puppet show, our little learners participated in an engaging discussion facilitated by the Camp Quality team. The children asked thoughtful questions, demonstrating their curiosity and empathy. They explored ways to support friends who might be unwell, reinforcing the values of care and their understanding.
The incursion helped simplify cancer and other serious illnesses in a gentle and approachable way. The children learned the importance of including and supporting friends who may face different challenges. The interactive format of the incursion encouraged children to share their feelings, ask questions, and understand that it’s okay to talk about tough topics.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Camp Quality for their time, effort, and dedication in bringing such an impactful learning experience to our children. The session was a beautiful blend of education and entertainment, leaving a lasting impression on our young learners.
At our centre, we believe in fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can develop empathy, resilience, and a sense of community. The Camp Quality incursion was a perfect example of how learning extends beyond the classroom, helping shape kind and compassionate individuals.
