Fostering Community Engagement and Environmental Responsibility
HCMC’s Successful Clean Up Australia Week Initiative
From the 4th to the 8th of March, HCMC hosted a Clean Up Australia Day week event, call to action families from each room to join in the effort of tidying our community. Each day, children were taken to Leatherwood Drive, where room by room, they enthusiastically participated in the clean-up process, picking up litter in our neighbourhood.
Prior to the outing, detailed risk assessments were conducted, ensuring the safety of all participants. Furthermore, all necessary permissions were obtained from parents, showcasing our commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in our activities. We were deeply appreciative of the turnout from our dedicated volunteer parents, who graciously spared time from their busy schedules to support our cause.
The event proved to be a resounding success, with children actively engaging in the venture to keep our community clean and litter-free. As a testament to their dedication, they even pledged to play a role in reducing waste in their everyday lives. Building on this momentum, we have continued to integrate sustainability initiatives into our daily routines, guided by the interests and passions of our children. Through weekly activities, we empower them to take ownership of caring for our environment, instilling in them a sense of responsibility and government for the world around them.
At HCMC, we believe in the power of community engagement and environmental education to foster a positive change. By working together, hand in hand with our families and children, we strive to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for all.
