On Wednesday, May 21st, the children at Hoppers Crossing Montessori Centre took part in a vibrant and informative Healthy Eating Incursion hosted by our Centre Director, Poonam. With her warm and engaging approach, Poonam led the children through an exciting journey into the world of healthy foods, helping them discover how fruits and vegetables help us grow, stay strong, and live well.
The incursion offered a hands-on learning experience where children explored a variety of colourful fruits and vegetables. They not only learned the names and health benefits of each item but also discovered how these foods contribute to keeping our bodies active and healthy.
Adding a cultural twist to the session, Poonam and the educators also introduced the children to the names of fruits and vegetables in Hindi, Gujarati and Chinese. This multilingual element enriched the experience, celebrating our community’s diverse backgrounds and encouraging language development in a meaningful and engaging context.
Thanks to Poonam’s thoughtful planning and passionate delivery, the incursion was both fun and educational, inspiring the children to make healthy food choices and explore new tastes with curiosity and confidence.
