As part of our ongoing commitment to holistic development through the Montessori philosophy, which nurtures independence and self-care, we were delighted to host a special Dental Health Incursion at our Centre on Friday the 1st of August. This event supported our aim of helping children take ownership of their health and wellbeing in a meaningful, and engaging way.
We had the honour of welcoming Dr. Rashi Gupta and the delightful Tooth Fairy to guide our children through an educational and fun filled experience. Dr. Rashi captivated the children with an interactive talk which focused on the importance of brushing our teeth in the correct manner, maintaining good dental hygiene, and making healthy food choices to keep our teeth strong and clean. The session encouraged active participation, with many children proudly sharing their personal dental routines.
Meanwhile, in the Toddler Room, our youngest learners were treated to a magical visit from the Tooth Fairy, who shared her message about dental care in a way that was both age appropriate and enchanting with songs. Her warm and playful presence brought smiles and excitement, leaving a lasting impression on the children.
A highlight of the day was a short excursion to the dental clinic next door for our Kindergarten children. This real-world experience allowed them to observe dental instruments, understand their uses, and even sit in the dental chair, a moment of wounder and excitement that many children described as the best part of their day.
This incursion beautifully aligned with our Montessori approach to learning through real life experiences and helped instil positive dental habits for our children from an early age. We are sincerely thankful to Dr. Rashi Gupta and the Tooth Fairy for making dental health both informative and enjoyable for our children, parents and educators.
